Salesforce and Apple iPhone SDK
At today's Apple iPhone event, Salesforce's Chuck Dietrich, vice president of mobile, demos Salesforce.com functionality built natively on the iPhone using Apple's new developer SDK.
According to Dietrich, just one Salesforce developer ("Jason"), built the demo in two weeks. CNET TV has a video of the demonstration.
Reaction from the Twittersphere:
Dave Huston: boring salesforce.com app demo on iPhone
AceyTech: Salesforce.com demo, **yawn**
Craig Patchett: Salesforce.com demo. Nice-looking app, also put together in 2 weeks.
hikikomori: Maybe the Salesforce guys should have come on before Spore.

Salesforce on the iPhone
gokubi.com's Steve Andersen has just posted about work he's done on creating an iPhone "version" of Salesforce.com. Cleverly, he's using an S-Control to handle the entire thing.
He's started with a simple search for contacts, which returns their phone number and email address. You can check it out here, with a screenshot.

Salesforce.com on iPhone
Looks like Salesforce.com employee Simon Fell has the first report of using Salesforce.com on the iPhone.
"The Salesforce.com web app seems to work from the iPhone so far..."
My contract with Verizon is up in November - still thinking about breaking it early. Must.... have.... iPhone....
