Salesforce Down!!
Receiving multiple reports of Salesforce App and web properties down!

It looks like it was down for about 30 minutes from all across the world. It appears to be back up now, both according to my monitoring and the twitter traffic. I have some more details here:

You may find this widget a useful addition to your site:

It basically gives you the current status (e.g. up, down, slow) of salesforce.com from all around the world. This specific widget also shows the page load time of the past hour, including loading salesforce.com, and performing a search.
In light of this incident, and trust.salesforce.com being down during the event, I could see it being extremely useful to your visitors.

Salesforce goes down, Starbucks could have tweeted a 'Salesforce' promotion and sent Salesforce customers running for coffee!
